How the MPs will be voting & email pro-repeal MPs
This page will help you find which MPs will be voting for the
Repeal of Section 59 (any smacking at all will criminalise good parents), and
which MPs will be voting against the repeal.
Be sure to email the pro-repeal MPs - tell them that you are
one of the 83% of New Zealanders who do not want Section 59 repealled. Tell
them that smacking is not abuse, ask them why they are ignoring you.
Current predicted vote outcome: 116 pro-repeal, 5 anti-repeal
however, this is due to the National Party backing down. Between 68% and 83% of Kiwis don't want this damaging bill - the debate should be brought to a public referendum.

Ask Clark and Key to allow the MPs in their party to be allowed to have a concience vote. Ask them: "If this ammendment is so great, why do you need to "whip" your MPs to get them to vote for it?" Let them know that you will not be voting for any MP or party that does go ahead and vote against the will of the majority of New Zealanders.
